PLYMOUTH - Loretta LaRoche Productions will presents Beatlemania Now at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in Memorial Hall at 83 Court St.
Made up of four members, Beatlemania Now meticulously honors the original sound, music and spirit of the Beatles, allowing audiences to recapture the excitement and frantic intensity of the 1960s.
The group combines the talent of four members of the original Tony-award-winning Beatlemania Broadway musical cast. Scot Arch performs as John Lennon, Ricky Vacca as Paul McCartney, Jon Perry as George, and Eric Smith as Ringo.
The cast recreates more than 30 classic songs in a multimedia musical stage show that has been called the ultimate celebration of the ’60s.
The accomplished musicians/actors bear uncanny physical and vocal resemblance to the legends. No tracks, tapes or background music are used during the performance. The cast performs using more than 16 authentic guitars to help reproduce the Beatles unique sound and look. Vox amplifiers and Black Oyster Pearl Ludwig drum kits are also used.
The talented four take the audience through nine scenes and eight costume changes, including Magical Mystery Tour white tuxedoes and intricately and accurately detailed satin Sgt. Pepper band uniforms. They perform against a backdrop of stunning images that span the most exciting and turbulent decade of modern times, helping to revisit the historic moments of the ’60s.
The two-act show retraces the entire career of the greatest cultural phenomenon of our time, taking the audience on a journey through the decade when the worldwide phenomenon known as Beatlemania began. Countless classics are included in the show – “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Let It Be” and even some the Beatles, themselves, never performed live.
The New York Daily News calls the show “Extraordinary! It’s a ‘must see and hear’ experience for all ages.”
