Plymouth, MA (November 10, 2009) – Loretta LaRoche Productions President, Erik Christensen donated $3,000 towards the beautification process of the historic Plimoth Plantation.
The generous donation will be put towards tree removal to enhance the view of the ocean from the property. Both visitors and residents will now have the opportunity to see the beautiful view of Plymouth’s Long Beach from the Plantation – much like the view that once was before trees overgrew.
Christensen spoke of, “The Plimoth Plantation is one of the many jewels in our town. My wife and I were married here just about twenty years ago. It was the perfect setting for our wedding. The ambience of the venue and the magnificent ocean views from the Gainsborough Hall banquet room made it an unforgettable memory for my wife and I.”
During the months of preparation for a recent Birthday celebration for Loretta LaRoche, Erik’s Mother, Christensen had noticed the ocean view was hidden behind overgrown trees. Christensen asked the event director why the Plantation was not maintaining the overgrown brush that was blocking the views. Her comment was “lack of funds.” Because of his connection with the Plantation, Christensen immediately thought to raise funds to help the Plantation and once again capture that spectacular view of the Atlantic. “My company has always been proactive with helping great causes in Plymouth. I have lived here most of my life and I believe in giving back to your community. After a couple of meetings with the Plantation groundskeeper director and a local landscaping company, we determined what could be done and the projected expenses. I chose to donate $3000 to the Plantation so they can continue providing wonderful experiences for America’s hometown…now with a view”
Anne Phelan, Director of Development at Plimoth Plantation gladly accepted the kind donation. The beautification process is a work in progress; once finished, the view of the Atlantic will once again be an amazing site for all visitors to the Plantation.
