Women In Comedy Raise Money For The Ellie Fund

A Hysterical Night, Coupled With a Superior Cause -What Better Way To Give Back

Plymouth, MA (November 6, 2009) – The Women In Comedy tour, presented by Loretta LaRoche Productions hit Plymouth Memorial Hall on Friday, October 30th with a roar of laughter. Over five hundred people attended the show, making it a great success.

Susan Wornick of WCVB Channel 5 hosted the night and held her own comedy act between introducing the cast of five award winning comediennes. The night combined the talent of Patty Ross, Mary Ellen Rinaldi, Jessica Casciano, Kerri Louise, and Plymouth’s own Christine Hurley.

The hysterical night benefited The Ellie Fund of Massachusetts, a breast cancer support group. Attendees had a chance to mix and mingle with the stars at the Champagne Pre-Show Reception, while sipping champagne, indulging in some sweet treats and bidding on an array of auction items. All reception proceeds went towards The Ellie Fund. The night helped raise over $2,000 for the cause, which will be put to great use in helping the fight for hope.

“We have been producing our Women in Comedy show for a few years now and I must admit that I absolutely loved the line-up of women we had at this event! Looking out into the audience, behind the glow of the candles at each table, women balanced on the edge of their seats waiting for the next comedienne to set them ablaze. The laughter was so uncontrollable and contagious. I loved it! The hall became energized by the strength of a strong sister-hood, knowing that the beneficiary was the Ellie Fund. ( Helping women and families who battle breast cancer.) I spoke with the performers the next day and they still felt the presence of a great night! We hope to bring back another WIC show in March.” Says Dawn Christensen, Senior Executive Director of Speakers & Entertainers at Loretta LaRoche Productions.
