The RA! RA! with LauRA Show spreads RA-arism which is cheer instead of fear and RA-arises people and makes them stop and smile and look to the heavens once in a while.

Laura Sheridan was a former Bond Trader for over 18 years in Boston for Fidelity Investments, Bank Boston, Fleet Investments and Constitution Capital Management. While working on the bond trading desk she went to night school and earned a business degree from Northeastern University and earned her series 7, 24, 53, 63 and 65 security licenses.

Laura then started LCS BONDS & Financial Management, Inc. the first women owned state certified bond trading company in Massachusetts and created Virtual Bond Trader. She has been featured in The Bond Buyer, The Patriot Ledger, The Boston Globe and contributed to several other financial articles.

She has been a guest on the Financially Speaking, Money Life and Your Money Matters radio shows. Laura has been a keynote speaker for Bank Boston, Fleet Investments and the Boston Rental Property Associations. She also created and taught a seminar called “Think Bonds” making her gain the name “The Bond Queen”.

 After over 20 years in the bond industry and at the age of 43 she found her dream and made a confession that she always wanted to have her own television show and be an entertainer so she just did it.

She created and now hosts The RA!RA! with LauRA TV Show and wrote a book called The RA!RA! Book. She closed her bond trading firm and started waiting tables and became the RA!RA! Queen instead. She now helps people kick the K away from FUNK and have just plain FUN and chase away the bla, bla and have more RA!RA! She has done RA!RA! with LauRA Live Shows for the Financial Women’s Association, The Outback Steakhouse, Cybershop, Norwell Council of Aging and several other organizations. Presently, there is a documentary being shot by an independent film company about her story.

Laura is OFD (Originally from Dorchester) and now lives in Norwell, Massachusetts with her son and husband.

Each show starts off with LauRA coming in and casting a spell of “backward, backward may time be your flight, make you and me a child for the night”. Then she kicks the K away from FUNK and everyone has just plain FUN. She then tells the true inspirational RA!RA! Story without all the hoopla and glory. There is Square Dancin’ in which LauRA dances inside a red square and dares to dance in a square and when things look bleak she recommends doing the freak. There is Candy is Dandy in which she throws out cool RA! RA! bags filled with little treats and a special RA-ism in each one. There is Queen or King of the Day in which an audience member is picked to come up and play even if they don’t have anything to say. The world loves a strong Queen or King who can play, laugh and sing. Then there is slapping on some stick in which LauRA takes a break in the show and puts on some lipstick and encourages others to take time out to freshen up.

LauRA bonds with her audience making fun of herself and life. Watch how she uses her jar of R’s to help with her Boston accent. See how she shares her RA-isms which are funny little rhymes from her book The RA! RA! Book such as “you are what you think so don’t tell yourself you stink”, “think twice before you reach for that extra treat it could enlarge your seat”, “it isn’t a crime to write these rhymes in lime”.

There are singing sessions in which she gets the audience to sing and if they don’t know the words she has them meow it. She believes in the Meow Theory which is every song can be meowed to and it is better to meow a song than to keep the music inside you which could cause you to growl.

Then there are Confessions, Confessions you need to say so the universe can sway in which she selects a few people from the audience to share their dreams. The show ends with LauRA sitting in a chair and listening to a peaceful song. It is pure entertainment designed to uplift people and take them away from the bla, bla and give them more RA!RA!.
