Brian Longwell has an MS in electrical engineering and spent 11 years working for AT&T’s Bell Laboratories. Radio Shack employees cannot help him. After realizing that he had successfully burned his career path bridges before crossing them (his performance reviews frequently stated that he was “disruptive at meetings”), he left and started his own design consulting company Special Projects Group, Inc. (www.spginc.com) which has employees, vacation policies, and Mr. Longwell vaguely in charge. Parallel to all of this, Mr. Longwell has worked as a professional comedian, successful enough to fund the formation of Special Projects Group, which in turn has been successful enough to allow him to return to performing so that he can once again fund the company to keep it open.

Brian Longwell has worked for years as a professional comedian on the club circuit performing at venues such as Catch A Rising Star, The LA and NY Laugh Factory, Caroline's Comedy Club, StandUp NY, The Comic Strip in New York, clubs and theaters across the country, and has toured the UK. He has written and performed sketch comedy and has written and produced comedic plays. Besides the non-motivational “Why Work?”, he has presented a tutorial on the American political process titled “Why Vote?” or other titles depending on what might best attract an audience. His unique talent was recognized at the New York Underground Comedy by his inclusion in the “Emerging Comics” show and he was a finalist for the Andy Kaufman Award at the above ground New York Comedy Festival.

On the corporate front, Brian has performed for AT&T, Hewlett Packard, and many medium and small size companies.
