Jane Condon

Type:
Travels From:

JANE CONDON lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, but she’s still a nice person. She has two boys, otherwise everything’s fine. Since she’s from a blue-collar town in Massachusetts, she likes to make fun of Greenwich. She loves to tell stories about her adventures (mostly survival tales) with her boys. Jane likes to say she learned comedy at the knees of the masters, her fellow students at Cardinal Spellman High School. She graduated from Wellesley College and Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Jane is on the Artistic Advisory Board of the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket. As well as the National Council of McLean Hospital, an affiliate of Mass General and Harvard Medical School, and the premier mental health facility in the country.

Jane is being given an honorary doctorate by the University of New Haven this spring 2012.

TOPICS:

HEART & HAHA ~DON’T GIVE UP

Every family has its problems. Jane’s father died when she was 15. (”I learned from my dad that life is short.”) Her family had alcoholism and mental illness. Jane turned her family troubles into hilarity and insight. A natural storyteller and talented speaker, she brings joy and her infectious enthusiasm wherever she goes.

LESSONS FROM A COMEDY MOM

~Two parts threaded into one seamless keynote. A fabulous dose of LESSONS FROM A MOM (“Take a sweater. Do you know what the definition of a sweater is? A sweater is something you wear when YOUR MOTHER is cold!”) And the truth behind LESSONS FROM COMEDY. Jane got rejected from the NBC show “Last Comic Standing” four times before she slept in her car overnight to get the fifth audition. And the next day she wowed the judges! She came back that night and was voted Audience Favorite in New York!

PEAKS AND VALLEYS

What could be more natural to life than peaks and valleys? Without the valleys, you know the peaks would be less high. It is the natural cycle. This is, after all, called "life" and not "good times every day." A little advice for when you are in the valleys? Sometimes life sucks. But hang in there, because it does get better.  It is the natural cycle.

“JANIE CONDON: Raw & Unchained”~ Her one-woman show (extended twice) noted an Off-Broadway success. 84 minutes in length. Call for details.
